Don’t settle for imported low quality air conditioners! Demand the best! Demand Cruise N Comfort Marine A/C! Our MES Series air conditioners are a great alternative to using costly high maintenance marine generators and high voltage AC powered air conditioners. Our air conditioners operate directly from batteries and do not contain hidden AC inverters like most competitors. We also utilize an always active eco-mode to further reduce power consumption on demand. This allows us to offer variable capacity settings that give the installer the ability to change the capacity of the unit for less current consumption (available on most models). The MES series uses our Brushless DC Variable Speed Compressor to achieve longer run times and greater efficiency. The Cruise N Comfort MES Series mini split-system air conditioners are assembled in our facility with 300 Series Stainless Steel components and hardware, making them perfect to withstand harsh marine environments. We utilized the offshore race community to develop and test our marine air conditioners, so our products are set to much higher standards compared to imported units. The MES Series is a tried and true design that we have manufactured since 2012.

However, this number doesn’t paint the correct picture as these incidences are just the ones wherein the victims registered reports against perpetrators. Last year, Delhi saw 18 incidences of acid attack. Malala’s story is that of grit, courage along with an unwavering belief in doing good to others. “One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world,” says Malala in her memoir I am Malala. Malala is the youngest to have been awarded the Nobel Prize in 2014 when she was just 17 years old. Everyone’s prayers were answered, and she recovered from the attack. Her story became an international sensation after a Taliban gunman shot her in a murder attempt. Her journey of human rights advocacy began with protesting against local Taliban barring girls from attending school. Who knew that a teenager born in the volatile Swat District of Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province will go on to write a new chapter in the struggle against the suppression of women and children? On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, let’s talk about women who not only fought all the odds and emerged as winners but are also making the world a better place in their own way. But how many of us don’t give up and use those challenges to our advantage? Those who do, become an inspiration for all of us.įortunately, the world has a lot of examples of such inspiring souls. “Heroes are people who have given their lives to something bigger than themselves.”Īll of us face challenges. “I helped her start her, so I was honored by that,” Haq says. Inspired by her efforts at UCLA, Anette Recinos, a student at archrival USC, sought out Haq’s guidance. Today, there are Cannaclub chapters at 31 colleges and universities in 14 states with some 7,000 student members, but it was the founding of just the third chapter - in 2019 - that may have cemented Haq’s legacy as a cannabis community connector. “We had a UCLA botany professor speak about the history and botany of the plant and we had someone from the UCLA Cannabis Research Initiative get involved.” “We had Cat Packer teach one of our classes,” Haq says. Lifestyle They came out of the ‘cannabis closet’ to help other Asian Americans do the sameĬalifornia cannabis brand owners wrote a beginner’s guide to weed and translated it into 11 Asian languages, including Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Urdu and Tagalog. “I kind of like tested out”), she headed to college - first to Pasadena City College, then UCLA and finally the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, where in 2021 she earned a master’s of science in pharmacological sciences with a focus on medical cannabis sciences and therapeutics. Her career in cannabis had begun.Įventually, with high school firmly in the rearview mirror (“I didn’t go back,” Haq says. The next year, four days after her 18th birthday, Haq started a budtending job at a dispensary. Haq says her report was so convincing that her mother invited her to present it again - this time to her colleagues and their patients at the City of Hope cancer center. So I wrote this whole report for her, and she was like, ‘Oh, you did homework!’ because at the time I was a high school dropout who had been avoiding homework.” “Instead, because she was a scientist, she wanted to know why what I was doing was OK and made me write up a report. “She didn’t punish me though,” Haq recalls. That’s when she caught her only child smoking weed. Her mother, a clinical researcher, would play a more direct - and formative - role in her daughter’s cannabis career 17 years later. “But she chose the old Arabic feminized version of the word that means ‘counselor or advisor.’ Which is kind of crazy because that’s what I do.” “Maha has definitions in different languages,” Haq says as she rattled off the translations from Hindi, Urdu, Farsi and modern standard Arabic. But she gives her mom kudos for choosing what turned out to be a wholly appropriate first name. Haq says that her last name, which is pronounced “huck” (as in Huck Finn), translates from Arabic to mean truth. area (“Palmdale at first,” she says, “and later all over the Antelope Valley and San Gabriel Valley”). To fully understand Haq’s cannabis career arc, one needs to start at the beginning, which was officially 2012 - the year she landed her first cannabis job - but if you’re a believer that your name can chart your destiny, then the seeds were planted much earlier than that.īorn to an Indian father (who isn’t part of her life, she says) and a Pakistani mother, she spent her early childhood in Houston before moving to the Greater L.A. That’s what I’m trying to do with Dabby Hour. “For the past 11 years,” she says, “I’ve been busy building up other people and helping them find their brand identity, build their businesses. It’s an important distinction, Haq says, because of why she entered the social media space in the first place. But I’m not sponsored or paid by any of the brands I talk about.” I try things, I go places and I comment on them and talk about them. On more than one occasion, when introduced as a cannabis influencer, she’ll smile her wide Cheshire cat smile and gently interject: “I don’t consider myself an influencer. … Her reviews of things on her livestream and on her Instagram really matter, not only because of her educational background but because of the big influence she has.”Īt the mention of the i-word - influencer, in this case - Haq seems to almost flinch. She not only seeks out women but also that are sustainably sourced. As a person with a social work background, I’m all about best practices, and she is too. “She does so much networking and she knows so many different brands. “We met when she was studying sociology at UCLA,” Barajas says. While Law decided to return to China in the last episode, a line of dialogue leaves open the possibility of a follow-up. In addition, revelations are made of a secret society whose members include Law's long-lost son. He is assisted in this by Grace (who joins the LAPD alongside him), Det. This plot line was unresolved and season one ended in a cliffhanger, although season two's premiere has Sammo alluding to Lee Hei's death (by way of accusing a one-shot villain of trying to avenge it). His goal is to capture Lee Hei and end his criminal organization. He finds out that his disciple, Pei Pei, had infiltrated Lee Hei's criminal empire. Sammo is sent by the Chinese government to apprehend an old nemesis, Lee Hei ( Tzi Ma). When American techniques do not work, Sammo employs some Chinese cop work to get the job done. He is also the mentor of Grace "Pei Pei" Chen ( Kelly Hu), an undercover officer. As he works for the police department, fighting crime in Los Angeles, he is met with a clash in culture. The basic storyline is that Sammo Law ( Sammo Hung), a well-respected Chinese cop, is transferred to America. The show lasted two seasons, before being cancelled due to high production costs and Hung being unhappy with the writing of season two. In many scenes, Hung does not speak at all, making Martial Law one of the few United States television series to feature little dialogue from the lead character. At the time, Hung was not fluent in English and worried about the audience's ability to understand him. The show was a surprise hit, making Hung the only East Asian headlining a primetime network series in the United States. The typical animation workflow is to do some hand-drawn storyboards, then create a couple of key style frames, then move to animation. I also put my note text in a handwriting font, though of course that’s entirely optional. I wanted my arrows to stand out from the rest of the art and make it obvious that they were notes, so I made them bright red, and grabbed a set of stock arrows that had a hand-drawn style as a differentiator (If you’re interested, the set I used was royalty free, and you can find them here). When creating storyboards and style frames, bright red arrows and notes are a great way to indicate motion and give some context to your panels. Also, even though the script lines are currently outside the artboard, I’ve created the text box to overlap with the artboard just a bit, which will make sure the script box is duplicated when I make a new artboard. This helps me know what lines this panel references, and it’s easy to make a few changes and have these included for the client if needed. My designs are pretty close to what the final will be.įor my reference, I put the relevant script lines above each artboard in a text box. There are red arrows and comments that give direction and notes for the client. I have the relevant script lines above the board. You’ll notice a few things in this setup: If you take the time to make it as close as possible to what you want it to look like now, your client will be able to see a nearly-finished look, and you’ll have your graphics already created for you when you move to After Effects! Here’s an example from part of project I’m currently in the middle of: Starting with your first board, you can use Illustrator’s awesome toolset to create infinitely scalable vector art for your animation. Illustrator does give you ability to create multiple artboards at once and can auto-arrange them into a grid for you, but I like to duplicate each artboard as I work, since style frames often use many of the same assets of the board before it (more on that in a bit): I like to use that and shift the first artboard up to the top left corner of the canvas, allowing me to work from left to right, top to bottom from there. There’s a tool called the “ Artboard Tool” (Shift + O), that allows you to select and move artboards around. You’ll end up with one artboard in the middle of your canvas (the total area Illustrator allows you to have artwork in). If you save the file as a PDF, each artboard shows up as a separate page in the PDF – perfect for sending to clients! Set up your initial artboard at your desired animation resolution (1920×1080 in the example below): The first step is to set up your initial artboard. One of the great things about Illustrator is the ability to have multiple “pages” – called artboards – in one document. You probably know how to create and modify assets for use in After Effects, but have you ever thought of using it to plan a whole motion graphics piece from storyboard to style frames? With a little bit of setup, you can easily create client-ready storyboards and style frames that will transition perfectly over to After Effects when the time for animating comes. If you work in After Effects a good bit, you’re probably familiar with Adobe Illustrator (if you’re not, then get familiar with it! It’s probably one of the most powerful and versatile tools Adobe has created). These are tesselating map tiles that are eventually making their way to GIS software to form a much larger map, so I don't want these little slivers of overhanging features as they end up overlapping each other at teh tile boundaries in teh final map.Doing an involved motion graphics piece? Use Illustrator to create your storyboards and style frames, setting you up to easily move to After Effects! I'm then exporting the SVG files (hundreds of them) to DXF and what I don't want is coordinates of polygons that fall outside of the defined artboard boundary. Using the menus (not script) I can then use that rectangle as a clipping mask over everything else which makes everything appear to be cropped, although what I'd actually like to do is properly, permanently modify all my polygons, rather than just having a visible clipping mask (and I need to do it all in script too). I have some script that creates a rectangle which is the exact size of my artboard. Is there a way (via script) of cropping all my shapes such that nothing hangs out over the edge of the artboard? I have some SVG graphics where the features/polygons 'hang out' over the edge of my artboard by a tiny amount. Hold swab so that Sting-Kill formula saturates applicator tip. I am running it (8.04) now, with the WS 6.5 BETA and it is connecting fine. BUT, I think you should be able to get bridged to work with Ubuntu. There are some things that don't seem to work as well in Ubuntu, like copy/paste, but I have not pursued it because I prefer openSUSE anyway (I am running 10.3 on this workstation most of the time). At that time, Sonicwall GCP did not run on Vista so I ran from Linux and tossed Vista (this was on my laptop). I did use a product called NCP which would connect to the Sonicwall from Linux (openSUSE 10.3).But, it wasn't free. I don't have wireless in this workstation but wired runs fine in bridged mode and connects to the Sonicwall (actually, 3 different ones). Also FWIIW, when I do an ifconfig -a, no Vmnet0 shows up. 6.5 and it runs XP, Vista, and W2K VM's bridged with no problem. Note: I cannot use Sonicwall on Linux (ubuntu - not supported).įWIIW: I have a host installation of Ubuntu 8.04 that I use for the BETA of W.S. The only network adapter that has any connectivity is NAT. I cannot get a bridged connection established, despite it being configured properly upon install (vmnet0 set to bridged). I don't have access to the sonicwall router log. I get the same error using VirtualBox - it runs NAT by default with no easily configurable bridged networking option. Note: I cannot use Sonicwall on Linux (ubuntu - not supported). My ultimate goal is to get a (password protected) PocketAce package deployed so that I can log into my VPN from a USB drive and launch an RDP session on my servers. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I'd love to know. (After all, Vista has only been out for a year and a half.) In fact, my host is Windows Vista Ultimate (圆4), and Sonicwall hasn't released a VPN client for this yet. I read this post: This isn't my issue, though, as I'm not running a VPN in my host. I've also tried using both bridged and NAT settings, and still it's a no-go. I've checked my ability to get to the internet, and that is working, so it shouldn't be a network adapter issue, sfaik. The problem is that the "Sonicwall VPN Adapter" starts a constant process of trying to acquire an IP address. After doing the second install, presumably correcting the issue, the interface will start. The first thing that is kind of weird is that I have to install the Globabl VPN client twice, as the first time it doesn't "register", although it doesn't tell you that until after it has "successfully" installed. Either way, I'm running into the same issue. I've got a completely clean and fresh Windows XP install in workstation 6.0.3, and I've also tried cloning it off to a pocket ACE instance as well. I'm having an issue trying to get the Sonicwall Global VPN client working in a Windows XP virtual machine.
